Universitas will be having its first Universitas CEO Talks in a get-together with the President of World Youth Alliance, Mr. Lord Pomperada on December 13, 2018 at the Universitas Headquarters. Coming all the way from New York City, Lord will be sharing the meaning and importance of Global Youth Leadership, as well as his extensive experience as a leader at a young age and his journey in working with World Youth Alliance to build a culture that supports and nurtures the dignity of the person along with young leaders from around the world in the past 7 years.

He will also introduce the work of WYA and its programs, primarily the Human Dignity Curriculum and its affiliate women’s health program FEMM (Fertility Education and Medical Management).

Lord joined World Youth Alliance in 2011 and became a full-time staff member in January 2014 as Regional Director for the Asia Pacific region. He was also recognized by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Youth Leaders Association with the Gawad ASEANO award for his praiseworthy efforts in youth development in Southeast Asia. Lord was elected as the 5th WYA President at the age of 23 and moved to New York City in the of fall of 2015. He leads the global programming and operations of WYA as he enjoys working with young people, spending time with friends and travelling all over the world.

The World Youth Alliance is a global coalition of over 1 million young people in over 160 countries who are committed to affirming the inalienable dignity of the person, defending the intrinsic right to life, nurturing the family, and fostering a social climate favorable to integral development, solidarity, and mutual respect.

WYA’s six regional offices are located in Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, Europe, North and Latin America, with the Headquarters currently based in the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

As an effort of the Foundation to form leaders with international exposure, Universitas sent its current Media Officer, Mary Grace Cruz, to New York for the World Youth Alliance Headquarters Internship Program under the supervision of Lord Pomperada.
