“WILL THERE BE A PALAWAN MODEL FOR OUR LEADERSHIP COURSE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE?” THAT WAS THE QUESTION WHICH UNIVERSITAS PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OLIVER TUAZON, IN A CHALLENGING POSTURE, PUT FORWARD DURING A DINNER MEETING IN PUERTO PRINCESA LAST MARCH 26.
The meeting, which was held at Kinabuch’s, was attended by members of Universitas’ executive committee, and some notable professionals who are based in the city of Puerto Princesa.
Among those present were Dr. Lito Posas and his wife Dr. Gemma Posas, who are both distinguished medical doctors in the locality specializing in Pulmonology and Dermatology respectively. In attendance likewise were Hon. Judge Rowena Socrates of the Puerto Princesa Municipal Trial Court, Engineer and Mrs. Jess Garcia, bank manager Benjamin Cabrera, among several others who wish to contribute to the good of the community through their respective line of work.
The dinner-meeting, made possible by the support of the Provincial Government of Palawan, provided Universitas officers a forum to present the foundation’s projects and goals to some of the significant players in the country’s so-called “Last Ecological Frontier”. It is hoped that the meeting would serve as a first step to extending Universitas’ reach to the province of Palawan.
