UNIVERSITAS YOUTH CONFERENCE
Universitas Youth Conference (UYC) is an annual conference for youth leaders, scholars and volunteers. It is a yearly whole-day gathering of all the young stakeholders of the Foundation where they get the opportunity to listen, interact, and be inspired by guest resource persons. Among the previous speakers of the conference were renowned Harvard economist Dr. Bernardo Villegas, governance guru Dr. Jesus Estanislao, Ambassador Joey Cuisia, Director Laurice Guillen, TV anchor and columnist Atty. Jose Sison, renowned news anchor Mike Enriquez, Philippine Society for Nuclear Medicine president Dr. Emerita Barrenechea, and key executives such as Dr. Lito Sandejas, Mr. Luis Alejandro, Mr. Eric Canoy, Mr. Jayjay Calero, among others.
The Universitas Youth Conference (UYC) aims to gather young people from all over the Philippines and provide them with a venue to interact, discuss certain topics related to the year’s proposed theme, and work together for a social initiative. Through the UYC, the youth will hear out the experiences of speakers in professions of law, media and business.
The conference was started by the Universitas organization back in the 2000’s. Beginning this 2019, the UYC will be taking place on a day within the first quarter of each year. It is a whole-day activity to be held on a Saturday.
The yearly theme is always connected to Cultural, Educational, Moral, and Socio-political discussions in relation to the contemporary setting. The event is best suited for young people of ages 18-30.
The program is a seminar under the Education, Formation, and Mentoring arm of the Foundation.
