AUGUST 25, 2019, Pasig City, Philippines–World Youth Alliance Asia Pacific (WYAAP) successfully concluded an introductory training session with Officers and Managers of Universitas Foundation last August 25, 2019.

The full-day training event provided a comprehensive introduction to the World Youth Alliance–its values, work, and programs, as well as lectures on topics from the Certified Training Program (CTP). The lectures and activities were led by WYA Directors, Mary Imbong (WYAAP Regional Director), Joyce Cedeño (WYAAP Director of Operations), and Anne Mimille Guzman (WYA International Director of Operations).

WYA and Universitas Foundation penned a partnership in 2018. Since the partnership, WYA has welcomed three volunteers from Universitas to the WYA Global Internship Program and Advocacy Fellowship at the WYA Headquarters in New York, NY. The introductory training program held on August 25 aimed at training more fellows from the foundation to become Certified Members and ultimately to become competent youth leaders and young professionals in the defense of the dignity of the person.

The Certified Training Program or “CTP” is a certification course offered by the World Youth Alliance (WYA) for youth who are interested in enriching their knowledge about person-centered leadership and human rights philosophy. It covers a collection of texts that presents a summary of philosophical, historical, and modern-day ideas that shed light on the dignity of the person, human rights, and international law.

Universitas Foundation, Inc. (UFI) or Universitas for short is a non-stock, non-profit organization that envisions a society led, directed, and managed by leaders who are competent, with stable moral character and a well-formed conscience. Latin for “universality”, Universitas’ name signifies the Foundation’s thrust of upholding and promoting universal and timeless values and virtues in forming principled leaders.

WYAAP thanks the team and management behind Universitas Foundation led by Atty. Oliver Tuazon, and the CTP-Universitas project head, Atty. Kyle Bollozos, for organizing a successful training activity.

NOTA BENE: The views, thoughts, and opinions expressed in the text belong solely to the author, and the speakers mentioned in the article, and not necessarily to the Foundation.
